IF I FORGOT EVERYTHING
In the middle of nowhere I change trains
And everything I ever knew starts all over again
Nothing ever happened the way I remember
It used to be summer, now it’s November
There are no rail tracks when I look behind
But if I forgot everything, what could I find
Winter waits around the corner, that much I know
White things will fall down, I think it’s called snow
It’s dark outside the train, don’t know where we are
I see the red taillights of a distant car
I picture myself driving deep into the night
Not stopping until I’m surrounded by safety and light
In that light suddenly I see why I am here
I found you and lost myself, paralysed by fear
So I scare pretty easily, but when needed I am brave
One little word from you now, would mean I am saved
I am saved, ‘cause you said my name
In the middle of nowhere I change trains
And everything I ever knew starts all over again
